Volunteer for Foundation Communities

Following up on my Foundation Communities' Prosper Centers post last February.

In early 2025 Foundation Communities lost funding for their Prosper Health Coverage program, specifically health insurance navigators. Fundraising via Amplify Austin last March was successful, the program will continue, but volunteers are needed. In their 2024 report 127 volunteers gave 2,263 hours. With the loss of the navigator funding more will be needed. Training is provided.

You have other options. There are many more volunteer opportunities. You can sign up online but there is also a 2025 Volunteer Impact Fair on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 5:30-7:00pm at the Parker Lane Apartments, 2105 Parker Lane, Austin, TX 78741 You can RSVP here. FC’s Executive Director Walter Moreau writes, “Now more than ever we really depend on over 2,500 volunteers each year to help all of our residents with taxes, food, health insurance, tutoring and more. We need more help from the community.”
